Kalila started her lash journey at the age of 18 during her final year of sixth form as a student. It was purely a "side hustle"; however, this turned into a successful 5 figure business in the first year. "For 15 years I believed I was destined to become a doctor, a vet, or some sort of medical professional. I never thought I would be in the beauty industry. I was always interested in makeup/beauty and no matter how much I tried to stay in line with the 'normal' studious lifestyle, I was always drawn to beauty. I could not ignore my passion for it. There was a huge stigma around beauty (especially in the UK and before the peak of social media), that becoming a beautician would not get you far in life; however, I am here to tell you that is FALSE! Since becoming a lash artist, my life has changed immensely. I had been a lash tech throughout the whole of University, and I can say that I definitely lived a unique uni-lifestyle! I had a lot more freedom as I earned significantly more than the average full-time student, I was able to fund my whole 4 years at university paying my rent, bills, day to day expenses, holidays, gifts and more.
